Decorate your home and gardens with the special garden gnomes…..
Gnome and Juliet have been living in the heart of people for long time in years in the making. That is, how long it has been since the executive producer of it first proposed the film so that he has believed in an as relevant today as it was in the original was in the sixteenth century. The voice cast of the Gnome and the famous Juliet also features Patrick Stewart as Will Shakespeare, or Michael Cain, Maggie Smith, or Jason Statham, or even Hulk Hogan, and Osborne. The very beautiful soundtrack of it also includes some of the classic hits and some of these new songs by the renowned producer. So now, obviously at long last that we have the whimsical Disney version in a very new animated family film that has been produced by a rock star and also set in the world of garden gnomes. As a result of that the two households are both alike in dignity as well and also dignity for the cartoon world.
So it is not in fair in case of Verona but in a quiet English neighborhood that is where we lay our scene and in the gardens of next door neighbors of Lord Redbrick and Lady Blueberry. But today the flowerbed is very much populated with those classic English garden decorations like those little statues of the famous garden gnomes .
They have a particular type of wearing such as the red caps, and also hers wear blue but they are bitter rivals to each other. In the past for at least four centuries since Romeo and Juliet was first performed, that tragic tale of Shakespeare had star crossed lovers which has been recast into formats from high school comedy to musical theater. This has been the animated version of the gnomes that come to life when people are not watching them.
That is so but when red capped Juliet come to meet the blue wearing garden gnome then the ancient grudge is forgotten. The renowned gnomes have had already a renewed appreciation for all over the world after reading a point in this article which advised people selling their homes but also to have those important gnomes in their garden or even at least hide them behind the begonias until the house is sold by them.
They should also not be banned in their gardens for any purpose. These hideous little ornaments do something for each and every garden apart from tell the people about them. The flower show has already been started garden gnomes for sale in their homes as well. When the person met Kelly and all these guys it was really a great to hear from them that they really wanted to have such a tough little Juliet like the one they had already done on stage so far. She was not a wilting but a very delicate flower which she was actually hot and tempered just like her dad only and also she was very much decisive and rebellious.
The history of the statues of the most famous garden gnomes has its start in folklore and fantasy of the garden gnome . So long before the first garden gnomes for sale appeared in that first English Garden then these little people were then the subject of various stories that were told repeatedly.

Home Vegetable Gardening – Optimize Your Garden For Growing Lettuce
I think of lettuce as one of those “staple” vegetables. In other words it can be used in a variety of recipes, from salads, to sandwiches.
Because lettuce thrives in cooler temperatures, it is best to grow it in early spring or fall.
Here are some steps you can take to improve the conditions where your lettuce will grow to optimize and increase your harvest.
As stated earlier lettuce is a cooler temperature vegetable. The seeds will germinate best when the temperature of the soil is between 40 to 60 degrees F (4 to 16 C). Once the seeds have germinated they thrive best when the soil temperature is 55 to 65 F (13 to 18 C).
Next, test your soil where you will be planting your lettuce for its pH level. Ideally the pH range of the soil for lettuce should be 6.5 to 7.0. You can pick up a soil testing kit at your local home or garden center or online where testing kits are sold.
Although it varies slightly from variety to variety, spread your lettuce out about eight to twelve inches for optimal growth.
Give your lettuce plenty of room to “spread” out has been shown to yield more.
Lettuce requires light to moderate watering and full sun for best yields although lettuce can grow even in partial shade.
As you can see growing lettuce is not all that complicated, but putting in that extra effort to optimize the growing potential will yield more lettuce than you ever thought possible.

Home Garden Care in the Spring – Aphid Control Guidelines For the Home Gardener
Spring is the season when a host of pest organisms come to life and feed massively on our garden plants. Foremost amongst them are species of tiny flying insects, known commonly as aphids, which while not generally fatal, cause a lot of visual damage to a wide range of plants.
The initial symptom of aphid activity is the secretion of sugary substances on new leaves, stems, and flowers. This can be extremely unpleasant with honeydew dripping on to paths, parked cars, and other plants. More dangerous to the plants’ health is the sooty mold, which is a complex of fungi that develops from the honeydew. Left unattended, the soot blocks out light from reaching the plants’ foliage, thereby depriving the plant of its vital energy source.
Before going into how to deal with aphids, remember that the purpose of pest control is not the complete eradication of the offending organisms, but rather the control of their population levels to manageable proportions.
The indiscriminate use of insecticides only succeeds in clearing the way for pest populations to explode, as the insecticides reduce the population of natural predators. For this reason, quite apart from environmental considerations, it is best to avoid applying pesticides in the home garden altogether.
As intelligent pest management is about control and not elimination, non-poisonous, “environmentally friendly” insecticides, such as insecticidal soaps, can do a satisfactory job. Better still is to use the good old-fashioned garden hose at high pressure to wash off the aphids, with a little help from your thumb and forefinger. Will this be 100% effective? The answer of course is negative, which as previously mentioned, is a good thing in itself.
As aphids in the spring tend to attack young juicy growth, they are mostly found on the plants’ growing tips, making it easy to remove them by simply clipping the plants lightly.
This works perfectly for foliage plants such as Artemisia or Ivy, but of course might prove very unsatisfactory for flowering ornamentals and fruit trees. It is also possible to let nature take its turn. In the Mediterranean region for instance, periodic hot, dry winds kill aphids just as effectively as insecticides.
With pests in general and aphids in particular, timing is all-important. Ultimately, we should be striving to turn the garden into a balanced eco-system, but this is easier said than done. In the meantime, aphids should be treated at the first signs of infection.
One sometimes sees a gardener spraying the honeydew or even the sooty mold that has grown on the plants’ foliage and stems – a case of shutting the barn door after the horse has bolted. Aphids produce a number of generations within a single spring, so there is every chance that the gardener is spraying the symptoms and not the cause itself.

Organic Gardening – Growing Onions in You Home Vegetable Garden
One of the oldest know vegetables is the onion. It is commonly used in a variety of recipes in the kitchens around the world and can be purchased in many different way, from fresh, canned, chopped, dehydrated, frozen and even pickled.
Growing onions can be done from seed, transplants or sets. When choosing seed to start your onions, you will have a larger choice of what you can plant, but can take five months for the seedlings to mature enough to be transplanted and they are more susceptible to disease.
Transplants are onion plants that were started from seed that same season. They can be purchased at some local garden centers, depending on where you live and can be purchased from on line sources. They are usually sold in bunches. They have a shorter growing season than seeds do but can have the same problems like disease.
Sets are the most common way that onions are planted in the home garden and are sold at most local garden centers.
They are no more than an immature bulb. These sets are started from seed by sowing the seeds tightly together to create a very thick, tight growing crop of seedlings. This results in a stunted plant growth that will produce a small bulb. These small bulbs is what is sold as sets to be planted the next growing season. When purchasing your sets, keep in mind that they should be about 1/2 inch in diameter and solid, soft small bulbs will not produce a good mature onion, even over size sets that are bigger than 1/2 inch usually wont do good.
When choosing the variety of onion you want to grow, there is one thing that needs to be considered. Onions have what is called day length requirements. Some need 13 to 16 hours of daylight and others only need 12 hours.
Choose a variety that is best suitable for your area.
Onions will grow best in a raised garden bed with a good healthy soil structure and plenty of compost or composted manure mixed in and drains well. The soil should have a fairly neutral ph level of between 6 and7.When planting seeds the soil needs to be fluffy or very loose.
Sow seeds directly into the garden bed thickly and cover with a 1/2 inch of fine soil. If you mix radish seeds in the same area they will serve two purposes, deter root maggots and help mark the area where the onion seeds were planted. Once the seedlings start to grow you can start to thin them to about 1 inch apart and then in about a month thin them to 6 inches apart. When you thin them this second time you will want to pull back some of the soil around the bulb to expose the top and sides, this is a great way to induce the development of the bulb.
When planting transplants you want to space then 4 to 6 inches apart and about 2 inches deep.If you are planning on harvesting the onions young then you will want to use the closer 4 inch spacing.
Sets are the third method of planting onions. When purchasing sets you can figure that one pound is enough to plant a fifty foot row. Trench your rows out about 2 inches deep and place the sets with the stem end up. This is the one thing that you will need to watch for when planting. Once you have the sets in place cover with a good garden soil and maintain then with the same methods as transplants.
Time to get ready to harvest your onions is when you see the tops start to turn yellow. At this time you want to bend the greens over horizontally, this will stop the sap from flowing through the stem and put all the plants energy into the maturing bulb. A couple days after you do this you will see the tips starting to turn brown, it is time to pull the onion bulbs from the ground. Do this on a sunny day and lay the bulbs on the ground to dry. When laying the out cover the bulbs by laying the bulbs in a row and covering the next row with the greens . This will help to prevent sun scalding.
A environment friendly and healthy way of gardening. Organic Gardening is away of gardening in harmony with nature. Growing a healthy and productive crop in a way that is healthier for both you and the environment.
Vegetable Garden Growing At Home
Great tasting vegetables, conveniently available right outside your door, grown organically and costing very little, the benefits of growing your own vegetables are certainly attractive. Many people have learned how to grow vegetables from their parents or grandparents, from following TV programmes or reading books and magazines and the popularity of the activity can be seen by the demand for allotments all across the country. Previously when income levels were lower and food less readily available, most people would have grown at least a few varieties of vegetables at home. Now that food costs are on the increase again, more and more people are attracted to the idea of growing their own.
It really ought to be simple to grow a few vegetables in your garden but for various reason, many people who try for the first time come across obstacles that affect the resulting crops and sometimes discourage them from trying again.. Weather has a big part to play with temperature and light both influencing the healthy growth of vegetables. Then there is the importance of nutrition because all living things need fuel to survive and grow healthily and of course pest and disease can cause issues too.
In order to maximise the success of your first vegetable crop it pays to plan your schedule and workload carefully from the outset and attempt, as much as possible, to manage the factors that have major influences.
One of the first things to consider is how you are going to get started with your new plants and whether you should grow from seed or started with small plants. Most seed varieties can be kept for around 2 years (except parsnips) with some like cauliflower and courgette able to remain viable in their seed packets for up to 5 years. However, to maximise your success rate always opt for fresh seed from a reputable supplier. Using a well known supplier and selecting a type that is well suited for your own growing environment will help you focus on some solid selections.
There are two main alternatives to growing from seed. Firstly potatoes, which are grown from seed potatoes that are stored upright from mid-February onwards while they begin to sprout young shoots. Seed potatoes are available in most garden centres, from online suppliers or at one of the many potato days or fairs held during January, February and March up and down the country. The other option for vegetables such as broccoli, cabbages and leeks is to purchase a plug plant. These are small plants that have already been grown from seed by a professional nursery. They are an option if you don’t have the time to sow from seed yourself, or you are making up time and are too late to grow from seed. Several companies provide plug plants in variety packs to give you a good selection of vegetable types to try out.
Once you have your seedlings or plug plants outside in your vegetable plot you then need to make sure they have the best conditions possible to grow well and stay unharmed until the crop is harvested. In the early part of the year the weather will probably be your biggest challenge. In the UK an overnight frost can arrive almost unexpectedly right up to May, so keep a sheet of horticultural fleece or other suitable material to insulate the plants if you think temperatures may dip too low. Heavy rain or thunderstorm can also damage a plot of young plants so afford your plot any protection you can if a storm is forecast. Your plants may look quite sorry for themselves after a storm, but don’t worry too much as they are able to continue growing as long as their roots are not exposed and you don’t step on the saturated soil right next to them.
Finally, as the vegetable garden fills out with crops, your plants may come under attack from disease or pest damage. There are various manual ways of protecting your plants such as covering carrot seeds with fleece, secured at the edges by soil, to prevent the intrusion of carrot fly and putting up some slug defences if you are growing lettuces, potatoes, beans and many other vegetables. Not all slugs will be interested in your precious crops but those that are will need to be stopped from getting to your plants if you are to keep your crop for yourself. All kinds of slug protection methods have been proposed, so if the one you try first is not effective, just try one of the others.
With a little luck and some simple effort you will enjoy your first attempt to you’re your own because the satisfaction of eating your home grown vegetables is very satisfying and very flavoursome too. But don’t give up if you experience a few problems to start with. Keep trying and as you get used to the challenges the problems will reduce and before long you’ll wonder why you waited so long from creating your home grown vegetable garden.
The opportunity to grow your own vegetables is something many can take advantage of. Mike is an enthusiastic gardener and vegetable grower and offers a few points of advice for anyone just startng out.

Small Vegetable Garden Plans For a Home Garden
Planting a small vegetable garden is almost as much fun as harvesting. Can’t you just taste the plump juicy tomatoes and the sweet tasting cantaloupe? Before you grow the area’s largest pumpkin or zesty collards, and are short on space and time, take a look at some creative small vegetable garden plans.
Square Foot Gardening–A Space Saving Plan
Intensive planting designs use every bit of garden space available. Square foot gardens (4 ft. by 4 ft.)are surprisingly productive. How many plants planted in each square foot is decided by the amount of room necessary for the specific crop planted to successfully produce a harvest.
For illustration, each single square in a square foot garden plan can contain 1-staked tomato, 4 bean plants, 1 pepper plant, or 50 radishes. Positioning of plants or seeds inside the square also depends on the crop selection.
Where a single plant occupies a square, set the seed or transplant in the middle to allow room to grow in all directions.
Several plants may be planted in rows, smaller squares, or at random in small vegetable garden plans. For instance, fill a square with four bean plants, divide the area into smaller squares and plant one seed in the middle of each. A square can hold fifty radishes or twenty onions. The seeds can be scattered across the square or sown in small rows.
Harvest early by thinning out young plants for use as tender greens or roots, creating room for the rest to grow. Trellises add a third dimension to small vegetable garden plans. A trellis is useful to gardeners seeking to maximize space. Rather than allowing vine crops to sprawl across the garden, send plants such as cantaloupe, watermelon, and cucumbers growing skyward.
Cages also can be used to take advantage of vertical space and keep crops from sprawling over the ground.
Many plants can be successfully grown in cages, including tomatoes, watermelons, and eggplants. In addition to space-saving planting techniques, gardeners have an additional resource: dwarf varieties and bush forms of plants that originally grew only as vines.
Be advised, while the dwarf varieties take up less garden room, the harvests are somewhat smaller than their full size relatives. Geometric planting patterns make maximum use of space in small vegetable garden plans. Gardeners use simple designs to fill wide beds with vegetables. As they say, necessity is the mother of invention.
Vegetable spacing for small plots
Beans are a sure producer and should be spaced four plants per square foot in small vegetable garden plans. Broccoli, Brussels sprouts, peppers, and eggplant may need staking and space 1 plant each square ft. Cabbage and cauliflower produces a single head planted at one to a foot. Trellis or stake tomatoes at one plant per sq. ft. Make successive plantings of endive, kohlrabi, and lettuce, at four plants per square foot. Harvest individual leaves of kale and parsley spacing four plants per sq. feet.
A single stake will support floppy, low growing plants that might otherwise be injured by winds or abundant productions. A wire cage gives the best support for tall growing plants.
Don’t think just because you have small vegetable garden plans that means not much of a harvest. Vegetable gardening even on a smaller scale can produce bumper crops. In fact, with vertical gardening, the sky is the limit!
There are many more great plans and ideas for all types of vegetable gardening, (including indoor gardening), available for free on my website.

Design Your Home Garden With Flowers
PREPARING THE STEM
A majority of flowers and foliage can be conditioned in a common way but some need extra care. Give a deep drink of water for a minimum of two to three hours. However, an overnight dip should be preferred. Thereafter, to prolong flowering duration, plunge the flower up to the flower head in a vessel filled with lukewarm water. Soft leaves are submerged in a pan containing water. If the stem is soft and not rigid, wrap it in non-greasy paper so that the stem remains straight during the process of deep drink. If the stems are woody, they should be immersed up to 2-3 cm in boiling hot water. Make a hole in the cardboard or hard sheet to protect the petals from the heat of the water vapours. Otherwise wrap a cloth or paper around the flower and then place the shoot in the boiling water. Hard stems of Carnation are given a deep cut at the centre of the stem up to one-third of their length.
In case of Chrysanthemum, the stem is hammered at the bottom to enable more water intake by the flower.
The cut flowers are then kept in a shady, moist and cool place away from direct sunlight and heat. Ideally an air-conditioned room provides optimum storage conditions. Never carry or store the cut flowers in a windy area. Wilting flowers can be revived by knocking off 2-3 cm of the stem under water and dipping it in water.
SELECTION OF FOLIAGE
The foliage must blend and harmonize with the floral design and should have matching lifespan and vigour with the flowers. The foliage of common permanent plants can be used in arrangements as these can withstand indoor conditions. What is meaningful is to know the texture of the leaf instead of the stem.
The criteria for choosing the foliage are same as for the flowers except in flowers we take young buds but in foliage, middle-aged foliage should be taken. Damaged, mature and wilted foliage should never be taken. In unavoidable conditions trim the damaged edges with scissors. After selection of the foliage wash it well and keep it in a cool place. Minimize the use of pins and stapler pins to hold the foliage as it damages the foliage and casts an ugly look rather than a pleasing effect to the arrangement.
FACTORS INFLUENCING THE FLORAL DESIGN
In general, a few factors are to be kept in mind before making a flower arrangement. The prime most is the location/place where the arrangement is to be kept (i.e., on a dinning table or a sideboard). The location must be such that it should automatically draw attention at the first place. The availability of space is a determining factor as the size of the arrangement will vary accordingly. The height/level at which the arrangement is to be kept is the next factor. Finally, the viewing angle — if it is to be seen from one side or from all the sides. To get an all-sided view, shapes like oval, round and pyramid are preferred. There are no fixed standards but the more closer you are in arranging the flowers and other materials in a natural way, the more appealing the arrangement will look.
TYPES OF ARRANGEMENTS
Fresh Arrangement: It is the art of organizing fresh flowers and other plant material into vases and giving them a pleasing composition.
Foliage Arrangement: In seasons when flowers are scarce, variety of coloured leaves may be used to make these arrangements which harmonize well. These provide beautiful transitional lines and unify the base.
Dry Arrangement: These are composed of dried flowers, fruits, berries, stalks, pods, cones and drift wood which collectively produce a wonderful effect. These can be used as a substitute for fresh flowers and are somewhat permanent arrangement.
Fresh-cum-Dry Arrangement: These floral designs may be made by combining fresh and dry plant material for creating beautiful textural effects and variations.
Miniature or Diminutive Arrangement: To add aesthetic value to the study table, bathrooms and dressing table, floral compositions are created which are the miniature forms of the standard sizes.
USEFUL TIPS
A flower arrangement is prepared to last for 4-6 days.
Always cut longer stems at the site and bring them to the desired size while making the arrangement.
To maintain regular flow of water insert the thin stem into the thicker stem and then fix it in the arrangement.
Geometric designs are made by fixing the material at angles on the holder.
If a material is to be pulled from the arrangement do it gently by pressing the holder and pulling the material from the middle without disturbing the arrangement.
Drooping flowers are a symptom of scarcity of water which is met by cutting 2-3 cm of the stem and dipping it in warm water for two hours.
There are six colour schemes and one can take help of a colour wheel while choosing colours.
Related or contrasting colour harmonies may be followed for selection of colour.

Extraordinary Flower Pots For Our Home Garden
Colorful Custom Planters or Pots
In gardening, commercial planters pose greater benefits and advantages than the ordinary clay pots that we use at home. Aside from durability and quality, commercial planters have more features such as the self-watering devices and reservoirs. But today, there are already commercialized pots available in the market.
Flower pots used to be made of clay. To be honest, clay is not an ideal material for outdoor planters because they are not very durable and they can easily break. Thus, clay pots cannot withstand strong weather conditions much longer.
But with the innovation of commercial planter boxes, flower pots can now be placed outdoors and may only need less maintenance.
Most flower pots nowadays are already made of durable materials such as fiberglass, metal, or PVC. These materials are ideal for outdoor planters so that they won’t easily get destroyed in case of increment weather or minor accidents. They are also made with high-quality by trusted manufacturers.
These modern planters for residential use mostly have self-irrigating and self-watering devices as well that make gardening more manageable for us. Aside from that, we can also ensure that our most loved plants will surely be nurtured even if we cannot attend to them too frequently.
Even if we bring them inside our home, there is nothing to worry about water leaking out of the flower pots.
The main point of this article is that flower pots for our home gardens are no longer ordinary as what they were used to be. We can already use those luxurious hotel planters and elegant restaurant planters that we see in some business establishments. Maybe we can have just the small ones that will fit in our home or the medium-sized planter boxes to put outside.
So if you are still using that clay flower pot, maybe its about time to consider using commercial planters. They may be higher in price but with the many advantages that you can get from them, they are definitely worth every penny you spent.

How To Plant A Home Garden
Selecting plants that are suited for your particular climate, level of experience and time dedication are critical to a successful garden. It is up to you to decide between the many choices that are available. By choosing a garden which suits your own taste, you will make the experience much simpler and more fun. There are several key garden ideas which you can choose from.
For those who are merely wishing for a natural adornment to their yard, a simple flower garden is just the thing. Perennials are a hardy choice that will not die in the winter. These plants have the toughness of weeds, but the beauty of roses. Once in the ground, there is little upkeep needed for these plants. You can research on the Internet to find out what selections are appropriate for where you live.
You can choose either seeds or bulbs for your flowers. It is much easier to plant the bulbs, but growing a plant from a seed can be much more rewarding. You must bear in mind that often many seeds are planted with only a few flowers showing up. Most bulbs grow more easily, though. Follow directions on both methods closely, and make certain that you’ve selected plants which flourish where you live.
Aside from planting flowers, a vegetable garden is a fantastic idea. Even if more upkeep is required, the rewards are also much more. These types of gardens can produce most of the year, with a little knowledge on your part. Since you might wish to plant vegetable for different seasons, leave a space for doing so when designing the garden location.
Growing a bountiful vegetable garden will not only provide you with nutritious food, but gives you a great workout too. Among the choices of vegetables are many different kinds. For instance, if you choose to plant “beans”, that could mean pole beans, green beans, bush beans, and a large variety of other beans. Same with squash, such as zucchini, crooked neck and acorn.
A garden of fruit needs more work than any other. More bugs and such will swarm to these gardens and thus there will be more to do. You will also have to have the proper soil and nutrients on every item. You will also need to choose a pesticide which won’t harm you and your family.
